It’s Time To Remove The Life Support For Racism

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

I’ve written on this subject a few times in the past and I’m happy to report that no one as yet has accused me of speaking out of turn. That is encouraging, since I am a white man speaking on this volatile subject. Perhaps the message is sinking into more hearts and minds than I give credit for and there is more of a general consensus on my view than I had imagined.

There are still, however, too many out there who refuse to give up. I’ll get right to the latest Bill O’Reilly dustup and the furor it has generated. Media Matters had this to say about his comments regarding his dinner at Sylvia’s with Al Sharpton:

O’Reilly surprised “there was no difference” between Harlem restaurant and other New York restaurants

On its face it does sound to be an ignorant, racist remark. Bill invited Juan Williams on the Factor to discuss the remarks and the reaction by CNN and Media Matters. The portrayal of the actual intent of O’Reilly’s comments become much more palatable under the proper context, despite the fact that folks like Boyce Watkins will not allow it easily. On a CNN broadcast, Watkins refers to Williams as “the eternal happy negro”. Sure, that’s constructive.

This is a common attack on blacks who are mainstream Americans by blacks who, like Watkins, et al, resist any movement towards a norm. I don’t even agree with much of Juan Williams politics but at least he’s a stand-up guy. People like Watkins are apparently hell-bent on keeping the races separate and different. It is, after all, a thriving cottage industry.

Let’s get back to what O’Reilly said, according to Media Matters: “O’Reilly surprised ‘there was no difference’ between Harlem restaurant and other New York restaurants”. Simply outrageous, if that was what he truly felt. That is not the case though, as evidenced by the text wrapped around those fourteen words.

Prior to uttering the now infamous fourteen words, O’Reilly was discussing the perception of black America being force-fed to the country via the “entertainment” industry. (All one has to do is watch fifteen minutes of MTV to see my meaning). It should be crystal clear to anyone that O’Reilly’s feigned surprise was designed to mock the stereotype that hucksters such as Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, as well as the sundry “hip hop artists”, wish to perpetuate on society.

Bill Cosby suffered a similar fate for attempting to suggest that blacks should stop trying to validate that very stereotype. That was from the usual suspects, however, the ones who garner all of the media attention. If I were so inclined I’d be willing to bet that if I took a poll of everyday, run of the mill, working black people that they would say they were cheering Bill Cosby’s words.

The left is equally culpable in this travesty for, should the perceived “problem” ever go away, there would be one less thing for which they could lament.

They fought so hard to let Terri Schiavo die. Why do they insist on keeping the bogus spectre of institutionized racism alive? I say it’s time to pull the plug and let the rest of us live in peace. Let racism wither and die, once and for all.

From Sea To Shining…Guatemala

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

It is the year 2015A.D. A man walks out of his house on a beautiful autumn morning with a cup of coffee and takes a seat on his deck, determined to enjoy the brilliant radiance of the sun as it slides lower on the southern horizon. There won’t be many more days like this to enjoy with the approaching winter, and he smiles at his fortune this day.

As he sips, he glances up at his flagpole to see the flag proudly waving in the gentle breeze. A tear forms in his eye as he remembers what used to grace this very pole; Old Glory. Today, however, there is no glory save for the fact that he at least still breathes the air currently inhabiting his lungs, air that may turn bitter and acrid at any moment.

The flag he sees now bears no resemblence to that which he had pledged allegiance to countless times as both child and adult. What he sees now chills and saddens him. It is an aberration which is certainly never going to win his heart, and one which he simultaneously feels will numb the memories of his children to the greatness that was once the United States of America.

He sees a meaningless cloth bearing a conglomeration of red and white stripes, green and red bars, and a maple leaf. No stars are present. There are no more states, united or otherwise. This is the flag of the North American Union, whose borders shall run from the Bering Sea to Guatemala, north and south, and from Atlantic to Pacific Oceans, east and west.

This is the “vision” that my President has claimed for my country. Make no mistake, I have been one of the most staunch W supporters out there, but when I learn of these machinations, I draw the line.

The scenario I depict would seem like a distant science fiction fantasy when I was in High School, but 2015 is not that far off, kids. I picked an arbitrary year, to be honest, for I have no proof as to when the timetable may be for this travesty, but if the current administration is striving for this it only stands to reason that, if successful, the implementaion could be fully in place by then.

I encourage anyone who reads this article to peruse the following links.
Save your country, read. Learn. Act. Do not let the United States of America die such a death, one with virtually no glory whatever. Losing her without so much as a whimper of protest would bring more than a tear to the eye; it would bring a torrent of sobs.

End The Illegal Occupation

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

(Kudos to Sleepy, [you know who you are], for the idea).

People who are against the war in Iraq, especially the seditious politician who travels to Syria and declares so openly, say that we’re “engaging in an illegal  occupation”. Many people on the left agree and are unabashed in their tirades and admonishments of this Administration.

One question they ask (I believe it was Hosey O’Donnell) is, “How would you feel if your land were overrun and occupied by an illegal invasion of almost two hundred thousand”? It’s a very good question, one designed to invoke introspection and further the debate.

Now be honest, who among you ever thought I’d give Hosey credit for anything? Let’s be frank, there is more to give her credit for than we know. For example, she is single-handedly capable of causing the most hardcore, pornography-chugging denizen of depravity to hate lesbians. But I digress…

Back to the question before us: How would we feel under an illegal occupation of America? Not just one by “almost two hundred thousand”, but by more than twelve million? All we must do is go to the border states of the southwest and ask around. I’m sure they know what an illegal occupation feels like.  Or we could ask the American worker how they feel about it.

So we have an illegal occupation by more than twelve million Mexicans and South Americans, and the very people who cry the loudest about Iraq react not with the same righteous indignation, no. They welcome and encourage it! Isn’t that odd? Not really. Why?

     From Family Matters :
Some people say that illegal alien immigration is not a real crime because it is “victimless” and that the illegal aliens are “only doing the work that Americans won’t.” In actual fact however, illegal immigration distorts the law of supply and demand in a capitalistic society.

In a capitalistic society…that explains much. What is it that the left has been railing against for so long in this country? Capitalism! Ah, the pieces are coming together, ever so slowly.

“Illegal occupation” in Iraq is bad but we need it here in America to further the destruction of capitalism. The ends justify the means, in other words. Very clever, these leftists!

Another clever ruse by the left has been the constant claim of being the “champions of minorities”, particulary African-Americans. Never mind that the Democrats had total control of government for forty years and that after those forty years were still complaining that minorities needed help. The reason they still needed the help is because all they ever got from the democrats were promises in order to keep them needy and dependent. So, what better way to keep that trend alive?

     Also from Family Matters:

A commentary, “Mass Immigration Takes Greatest Toll on African-Americans,” by Dan Stein, Executive Director, Federation for American Immigration Reform, notes that:

In some cases the influx of immigrants has allowed native-born workers to move up the ladder. But in all too many other instances, mass immigration has moved American workers off the ladder entirely, particularly black Americans.

Once again, the illegal occupation pays dividends for the democrats’ plans.  Can you say, “90% voter base”?

OK, let’s try one more. How about health care? Democrats are actively trying to ram the single-payer system down our throats despite the failures we have seen in countries where it is law. One tool they use is the bogus “47 million uninsured” rigmarole and what better way to make it work than to have 12 million people illegally occupy the country, swelling the numbers artificially as to the uninsured.

Save the Country. End the illegal occupation of America!

“Free” Health Care…Eventually

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

There has been a misconception for quite some time that healthcare in America is lagging behind that of other nations. People who watch tabloid television derive the majority of their viewpoints on pertinent issues from people with an obvious axe to grind. Michael Moore is also misleading people regularly, perhaps because he simply doesn’t understand the horrors he seeks to reap.

The left in this country, those who wish to inflict the “single payer system” on us, tell us that our health care system is inhumane and favors the wealthy, which is patently false. What is inhumane is putting one person or one agency in charge of your health. The system delivers quick help for primary care, something voters like, but if one is seriously ill they could die waiting in line.

This leads me to a link a friend sent to me. It has to do with the “free health care” that Canada has to offer. First, it’s an obvious misnomer because even though one can visit the doctor and not have to pay, the fact remains that one has already paid for it through exorbitant taxation. Everyone pays. Second, no one can get a proceedure without the approval of the Health Minister, and third, paying out of pocket is not permitted. That would give an unfair advantage to the…”wealthy”.  The bottom line is equal misery for all.

Here’s a glaring example. A woman in Ontario had a serious bladder malfunction making it painful or impossible for her to urinate normally. Janice Frazer needed a small device installed to remedy this condition. She was told by her doctor that only twelve such proceedures per year were permitted and that she stood at number thirty-two on the waiting list. That left her on an almost three year queue for surgery. To make matters worse, she offered to pay for the surgery and was denied, because medicine is “free” in Canada. To watch her story in her own words (and those of her mother), click here. (She eventually had to have her bladder removed).

An even better example is the case of  Lindsay McCreith, also of Ontario. He was suffering from severe headaches and seizures. His doctor suspected a brain tumor and recommended an MRI. He had to wait four months before getting his first MRI! He also wanted to pay for it rather than wait the four months and again, George Smitherman was there to tell them no. What to do?

He went to Buffalo, NY and got his MRI, which determined that he did indeed have a brain tumor the size of a golf ball.  He went back to his doctor in Ontario with the MRI results and was told he would have to wait three months just for a consultation with a neurosurgeon and that his surgery would probably be as much as eight months away. So, it was back to Buffalo, where he got the surgery in a week.

The lesson here is this. As bad as it would be to inflict this terrible system on Americans, it also raises an interesting question: Where would Canadians go for lifesaving proceedures if we emulated their system? America is the place people turn to when the need is dire. As Bill Whittle asks, “Go up on deck and take a look at which way the rafts are headed.”

The question that I ask is, do we really want a President or Congress that would wreak this kind of havoc on Americans? Think about this when you go to the polls.

Hypocrisy, Thy Name Is Democrat

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007
Larry Craig is just the latest example of the hypocrisy of the American Left. They revel in the misfortunes of Republicans and the occassional misdeeds of the same, even when there is no proof of wrongdoing. The real interesting thing to witness, however, is the different approaches the parties take when these incidences happen.

Larry Craig, for example; No proof of anything (and if you’ve heard the audio, you’d have to agree), but he’s gone. Tom Delay; May have possibly broken a law before it was a law, gone. Mark Foley; gone.

How do the Democrats handle people on their side involved in any form of chicanery? Why, they elevate them and the voters keep re-electing them. The first to come to mind, obviously, is Ted Kennedy. I really don’t see the need to elaborate further on him, you all know the history. But let’s take a look at some others.
  • Alcee Hastings from Wiki: In 1981 Judge Hastings was charged with accepting a $150,000 bribe in exchange for a lenient sentence and a return of seized assets for 21 counts of racketeering by Frank and Thomas Romano, and of perjury in his testimony about the case. He was acquitted by a jury after his alleged co-conspirator, William Borders, refused to testify in court (resulting in a jail sentence for Borders).  In 1989 he was impeached in the House by a vote of 413-3, and convicted in 1989 by the Senate and removed from the bench. Nancy Pelosi, who voted for impeachment in 1988, then wanted to appoint him as head of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in 2006. I guess he’s been rehabilitated.

  • John Murtha, Jr.Democrat – U.S. Representative from Pennsylvania. Implicated in the Abscam sting, in which FBI agents impersonating Arab businessmen offered bribes to political figures; Murtha was cited as an unindicted co-conspirator. Nothing to see here, folks, move along.

  • Marion Barry:  Re-elected Mayor of Washington D.C. after spending 6 months in prison for cocaine possession and being caught on video of smoking crack. (Yet they despise Giuliani because his marriage didn’t work out).

  • William Jefferson (D-LA): $90,000 found in his freezer and an ongoing investigation of bribery charges involving African businesses. Still serving, and still under investigation.

  • Gerry Studds: Censured by the House for having sex with a teenaged House page. Censured, not removed.

  • Sandy Berger.

  • Gary Condit

  • Barney Frank

The list goes on, and there are many who have spent time in prison, as well. But Democrats continue to defend them anyway.     If you’d like to see the whole list you can find it here.     Finally, let’s just take one last look at Hillary Clinton. Granted, she has miraculously evaded indictment and arrest, but the sheer magnitude of impropriety on a plethora of isses should be enough to make the most rabid leftist drool. Not to mention her husband, whatsisname.

Joan Swirsky has an article that cites the Progressive Review, a liberal website. There is quite a list of record-breaking items for an Administration there. Let’s take a peek:

Under the listing of “Records Set’” by the Clinton administration (read: co-presidency), Progressive Review cites the following, of which I will only list a sampling:

▪ Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates.

▪ Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation.

▪ Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify.

▪ Most number of witnesses to die suddenly.

▪ First president sued for sexual harassment.

▪ First president accused of rape.

▪ First president to be held in contempt of court.
